The Ogun State Police Command has declared singer Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, wanted for allegedly attacking government officials.
Police say Portable, armed with a firearm and other weapons, led nine thugs in assaulting officials of the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA) during an enforcement exercise in Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota. The officials sustained injuries but managed to escape.
While nine suspects have been arrested, Portable remains at large and has ignored police invitations. Authorities have urged the public to assist in his arrest, warning that anyone found harbouring him will face legal action.
Meanwhile, on February 6, nine of his associates were arraigned in court over the attack. They pleaded not guilty and were granted N5 million bail each. The case continues on March 17.
