A federal lawmaker from Zamfara, Aminu Sani Jaji, says bandits threw newborn twins to dogs after a pregnant woman gave birth in captivity.
Speaking to journalists, Jaji described the act as one of many shocking atrocities happening in the state. “That’s where we are now. That is the level of inhumanity we’re facing,” he said.
He also recalled how an epileptic boy was shot dead after falling during a seizure. According to Jaji, the boy’s father pleaded with him to surrender to save the rest of the family.
The lawmaker said Zamfara is facing a collapse of governance and urged the federal government to act. “Our people can’t access farms. Their economy is gone. Many are displaced and unrecognised by government.”
