Nigerian music star Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, popularly known as Portable, has finally turned himself in to the police after days of evasion.
Lagos State Police PRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that Portable reported to the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) in Yaba on Wednesday. The Ogun State Police Command has been informed and will take him into custody.
Portable was declared wanted for allegedly assaulting Ogun State government officials during a routine inspection of illegal structures in Sango-Ota. The officials had marked his hotel as an unapproved building, leading to a violent altercation where Portable and his associates allegedly attacked the officers.
In a viral video from hiding, the singer pleaded for forgiveness, insisting he was not a troublemaker. Meanwhile, nine suspects linked to the incident have been arraigned in Abeokuta and remain in detention, with bail set at N5 million each. The case resumes on March 17.
