Two people were killed and three others critically injured in a violent clash between security forces and youths at Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters in Katsina metropolis on Friday.
The incident began when police raided a hideout in the area, arresting a suspected drug peddler, Uzairu, also known as Kuda, who was found in possession of illicit drugs and a dangerous weapon.
Kuda resisted arrest, raising an alarm that attracted his associates. The youths attacked the police team, damaging a vehicle and injuring a police officer.
