Gunmen have killed at least 27 farmers in Bindi-Jebbu, a community in Tahoss district of Riyom LGA, Plateau State.
The attackers reportedly stormed the area around 5:30 a.m. on Monday, shooting and burning houses. Several injured victims have been rushed to hospitals, including JUTH and Plateau Hospital.
President of the Berom Youth Moulder-Association, Dalyop Solomon, confirmed the casualty figure, while the corpses have been deposited at various morgues.
Miyetti Allah’s Plateau chairman, Ibrahim Babayo, denied involvement, calling for thorough investigation and warning against hasty blame.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement. Riyom LGA Chairman, Bature Sati Shuwa, confirmed the incident but said he was still assessing the situation.
