Abducted Students of Federal University, Wukari Regain Freedom.

The two (2) students of the federal university, Wukari abducted by suspected kidnappers have regained their freedom.

The students were released by their captors late night on Thursday, April 11th, 2024, close to Chinkai village of Wukari local government area of Taraba state. 

Mrs. Ashu Agbu, the school’s head of Information and Protocol, confirmed the news on Friday morning. 

She said a ransom of seven hundred thousand naira was paid in exchange for their freedom as against the ransom fee 50 million naira demanded by the kidnappers.

The students, reported to be in the departments of Economics and Microbiology were in school to write examinations at the time of their abduction.

Trust TV earlier reported the kidnap of the students which took place around 10pm on April 1st, 2024, at an eatery located outside the school premises.

The kidnappers attempted abducting more students but failed.

A vast majority of the staff and students at the school live outside the school premises and several pleas have been made to provide better living spaces for them within the school premises.
