Nine abducted female students from the Federal University in Gusau, Zamfara State, have been released. The students who have been in captivity since late last year regained their freedom, some of their families confirmed.
Recall that on September 22, 2023, suspected terrorists raided the off-campus lodges at Sabon Gidan Community, near the Federal University, Gusau and abducted twenty-four (24) female students.
Different rescue efforts were deployed and 12 of the victims were initially rescued by the military, twelve others remained with their captives till now.
