Security Forces Arrest Ansaru Terrorist Leader

Nigeria’s security forces have captured Abu Baraa, a top commander of the Ansaru terrorist group linked to several deadly attacks.

National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu announced the arrest in Abuja, describing it as a major breakthrough after months of tracking him.

Ansaru, an Al-Qaeda-linked faction that broke away from Boko Haram in 2012, has carried out attacks on security operatives and civilians. Ribadu said the operation marks a big step in weakening the group’s network.
