The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has reaffirmed that the Port Harcourt Refinery is fully operational, dismissing reports suggesting otherwise.
Olufemi O. Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, stated that claims in the media alleging the shutdown of the Old Port Harcourt Refinery were baseless. He clarified that the refinery, which resumed operations two months ago, remains active and was recently verified by former NNPC Group Managing Directors.
Soneye emphasized that preparations for daily loading operations are ongoing and urged Nigerians to disregard misinformation, describing such reports as an attempt to create artificial scarcity and exploit the public.
The refinery’s reopening had initially sparked debates, with some expressing skepticism about its functionality. However, NNPCL has consistently maintained that the refinery is running efficiently.
