The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of e-commerce giant, Konga, Mr. Nick Imudia, has been reported dead. Mr. Imudia, who was, until his demise, the CEO of D.light, a leading innovator in residential solar energy solutions, reportedly committed suicide in his Lekki home in Lagos state, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.
The business mogul was reported to have jumped off the balcony of his building but not before making different suspicious phone calls to some members of his family. Mr. Imudia allegedly called his brother who is based in the United States of America, to give him instructions on how to distribute his wealth “should anything happen to him. He was also reported to have called his young daughter, reeling assurances he’d always be there for her and told her to “look to the sky” if she ever wanted to reach him.
Friends, family and associates are said to be in shock upon learning the news as they had no reason to believe he was on the verge of taking such a drastic decision.
Mr. Imudia was a native of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State and has a long and impressive track record in business.
He joined Konga in 2018 having been the regional director of TCL/Alcatel for 2 years. Before then, He was the managing director of Nokia, a company he worked at for 17 years. He worked and lived in the United States, Finland and Singapore at various times in his career and has been hailed as one of the most brilliant minds in the Nigerian business community.
