The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have announced the arrest of cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye famously known as “Bobrisky” over allegations of currency mutilation and abuse of Naira notes.

The anti-graft agency spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, in a statement said the cross-dresser was arrested at Pinnock Estate in Lagos on Wednesday night.

He said “Bobrisky is with us. He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command.

“We arrested him for alleged abuse of Naira notes, spraying of Naira notes, and currency mutilation, among others.

“We are very serious about restoring the dignity of the Naira. Though our investigation is still ongoing, but he will definitely be charged to court soon.”

Bobrisky has been in the news for various controversial reasons including winning the “best dressed female” award at a movie premiere, a development that irked many entertainers.

Amid the social outrage, Police force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, said there is no provision in the law suggesting that crossdressers in Nigeria should be arrested.
