The Nigerian Medical Association has suspended its planned strike, pending the outcome of talks with the federal government by Saturday.
This follows a dispute over a circular revising doctors’ allowances, which the NMA said breached previous agreements. After meetings with key ministries in Abuja, the circular has now been suspended.
NMA President Prof. Bala Audu says discussions have been positive so far, and a final decision will be made after further meetings this weekend.
