Suspected gunmen have reportedly kidnapped a journalist and reporter, Joshua Rogers, who covers Rivers state for Channels Television at his residence in Rumuosi in Obio/Akpor local government area of the state, on Thursday night.
Rogers was allegedly trailed to his home after close of work on Thursday. The miscreants, reports say, accosted him before he alighted from his car, pointed a gun at him and whisked him along with his vehicle off to an unknown destination at about 9 pm.
The reporter had earlier in the day, reported from an event in Ndoni in the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni local government area of the state where governor Siminalayi Fubara, inaugurated a primary healthcare centre.
A source close to Mr. Rogers, confirmed the abduction and appealed to the kidnappers to release him unharmed, emphasizing that he is merely a journalist performing his duties and not a wealthy individual.
His family has reportedly been contacted and with a ransom demand of 30 million Naira.
