Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has joined newly promoted Saudi Professional League side, Al Qadsiah. The prolific striker joins a long and growing list of international stars who have chosen to ply their trade in the middle eastern nation.
Aubameyang enjoyed success in Europe having played for some of the biggest names on the continent including AC Milan in Italy, Borussia Dortmund of Germany, Arsenal, where he rose to become captain, before moving to Barcelona and eventually back in London with Chelsea. Aubameyang’s latest stint in Europe was with French side Marseille where he scored 30 goals in 51 games last season.
He follows former Real Madrid defender Nacho, in moving this summer to Al Qadsiah, who finished top of the Saudi First Division League last season to gain promotion to Saudi’s top-flight.
Aubameyang joins a number of high-profile players playing in Saudi Arabia, which includes Brazil forward Neymar and Ballon d’Or winners Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.
