The Federal Government says efforts are underway to bring back 15,000 Nigerians stranded in Cameroon, Niger, Chad, and other countries.

Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Alhaji Tijani Ahmed, said the return will be voluntary and carried out with dignity.

He made the disclosure at a media briefing in Abuja, adding that over six million people are currently displaced within Nigeria, and more than 100,000 foreigners live in the country as refugees.

Ahmed also revealed that Nigeria will soon host over 100 delegates from 57 countries for a major meeting on migration under the Rabat Process.
