Governor Babagana Zulum has described Information Minister Mohammed Idris as “naive” over comments allegedly downplaying the security challenges in Borno.
Zulum had earlier raised concerns about renewed Boko Haram attacks and kidnappings in the state. But a media report suggested the minister dismissed his warning.
In response, Zulum said: “I don’t want to join issues with him, but he doesn’t know what is happening in the country.”
He added that the state is working closely with the military to address the situation, assuring residents that Boko Haram will not reclaim lost ground.
