Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello is in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged misappropriation of funds.
Sources suggest that Bello either voluntarily presented himself to the EFCC with his legal team or was apprehended. His questioning comes as part of ongoing investigations tied to a fresh case filed by the EFCC.
At a hearing on November 14, the anti-graft agency requested an adjournment to November 27 to allow time for a summons to run its course.
In April, the EFCC declared Bello wanted after he reportedly ignored invitations and resisted arrest. A dramatic standoff at his Abuja residence led to reinforcement from the Police and DSS. Reports indicated that Bello evaded capture that day, prompting a prolonged absence from public view since the April 17 incident.
Details of the EFCC’s investigation remain under wraps, but the commission emphasizes its commitment to justice.
