A powerful windstorm has destroyed several homes in Bunkure LGA of Kano State, displacing residents in Sakafalle-Jalabi and Zangon Buhari.
Local authorities say no lives were lost, but many houses were badly damaged. The Acting District Head has reported the incident to the Emir of Rano, who has directed that a report be sent to the council for urgent intervention.
Residents say the storm, which struck late Monday, tore off zinc roofs and brought down walls, leaving families to seek shelter with neighbours or in nearby mosques. Many are now calling for immediate support from the state government.
