Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has refuted claims by the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, that religion influenced the suspension of Engr. Shehu Ahmad Hadi, Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
Olayinka described the allegations as an attempt to incite religious discord. He clarified that Hadi’s suspension was unrelated to his faith, asserting, “The position is not a chieftaincy title, and FCTA operations continue seamlessly.”
Quoting Islamic teachings, Olayinka urged Akintola to counsel acceptance of the decision rather than provoke tensions. He emphasized unity and the importance of supporting governance without religious bias.
