FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says he takes pride in holding powerful individuals accountable, unlike his predecessors who, according to him, lacked the courage to act.
Speaking during his monthly media chat in Abuja, Wike said many past FCT ministers failed to enforce payment of ground rent by influential property owners.
“I enjoy stepping on big toes. They said Abuja wasn’t working before. Now it is, because I’m doing what they didn’t do,” he said.
His comment comes after the FCTA began sealing properties of ground rent defaulters, including the PDP headquarters. President Tinubu later intervened and gave a 14-day grace period.
