Electricity workers under the Nigerian Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), FCT Council, partially shut operations at the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) headquarters on Wednesday.
The protest followed unmet demands, including casualization issues, delayed salaries, and pension arrears. Workers, carrying placards, blocked the office entrance and sang solidarity songs.
AEDC’s Head of Marketing, Adefisayo Akinsaya, described the situation as minor and resolved. The strike ended earlier after NUEE and AEDC management reached an agreement to address the workers’ grievances.
