A 50-year-old man, Ado Haruna, has been arrested for aiding bandits in kidnapping his nephew’s family in Zaria, Kaduna State.
According to the police, Haruna led the gang to Alhaji Bashiru Anas’ house, where his two wives, three children, younger brother, and his brother’s wife were abducted. They spent 60 days in captivity before a ransom of over N10 million was paid. Haruna, however, received only N200,000.
“I was the one communicating with the bandits using Anas’ phone,” he confessed. “Life pushed me into crime.”
Meanwhile, security operatives also arrested Nyali Hassan, a notorious kidnapper linked to multiple abductions in Kano and Kaduna. He was found with an AK-47 rifle and revealed that his gang collected ransoms between N1 million and N10 million.
