Troops Arrest 3 Suspected Kidnappers in Taraba.

Troops of the Nigerian army deployed for counter-terrorism, and counter-insurgency operations in the north east and north central zones in the country, have announced the arrest of three (3) armed kidnappers in Lankaviri community of Karim Lamido local government council of Taraba state.

The announcement was posted to the army’s social media (X) handle on Saturday. According to the statement, the troops responded to a distress call, and successfully foiled a kidnap attempt on one Musa Arewa by the suspected kidnappers.

The army said three locally fabricated guns were recovered from them.

In another jointly coordinated effort with hunters and other security agencies, the troops conducted a fighting patrol to clear communities infiltrated by terrorists.

Similarly, the Nigerian army on Saturday said its troops have conducted clearance and search operations in Borno and Nasarawa states, resulting in the killing of suspected terrorists and recovery of firearms.

In a statement posted to social media, the army said the operations were carried out in collaboration with hybrid forces in both Kana village, Biu local government area of Borno state, and parts of Nasarawa state.

According to the statement, during the operation, troops had an encounter with terrorists around Nguma village and neutralized two in a gun duel.

It stated that the troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles, one (1) motorbike, six (6) bicycles, and other sundry items abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.
