President Bola Tinubu on Thursday signed four key tax reform bills into law, marking a major step in overhauling Nigeria’s tax and revenue systems.
The signing took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, with top government officials including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas in attendance.
The new laws—Nigeria Tax Bill, Nigeria Tax Administration Bill, Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Bill, and Joint Revenue Board (Establishment) Bill—were recently passed by the National Assembly.
Presidential adviser Bayo Onanuga said the laws are expected to improve tax administration, raise government revenue, and attract more local and foreign investment.
