President Bola Tinubu has posthumously honoured late Shehu Umaru Musa Yar’Adua with Nigeria’s highest award, GCFR.
In his Democracy Day speech, Tinubu also conferred national honours on Kudirat Abiola, Bola Ige, Humphrey Nwosu, Beko Ransome-Kuti, Ken Saro-Wiwa, and eight other Ogoni activists.
He announced a full pardon for the Ogoni nine, saying more names will follow after consultations.
“These heroes sacrificed for justice and democracy,” Tinubu said.
