Tinubu Launches Reconstruction of Key Abuja-Kaduna Highway

President Bola Tinubu has officially launched the reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano federal highway, a critical road that connects Northern Nigeria. Governor Uba Sani, representing the President at the event, emphasized the road’s importance as the busiest route in the north, affecting over 12 states across the region.

Governor Sani noted that the road had been neglected for years, leading to unsafe conditions and hampering economic growth. The reconstruction, expected to take 14 months, will feature reinforced concrete pavement, solar-powered lighting, and CCTV surveillance. The project aims to enhance security, create jobs, and drive economic development in the region.

Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, confirmed that the project will be completed within the set time frame, and sections of the road have already been awarded to a reliable contractor. The government’s efforts are also focused on improving other major federal roads, including the Kaduna Eastern and Western Bypasses.

Governor Sani credited President Tinubu’s administration for prioritizing the project and improving security along the route, making it safer for travellers.
