Former senator Shehu Sani says President Bola Tinubu has shown Buhari more honour than the late former president did to others while alive.
In a post on X, Sani listed Tinubu’s gestures — declaring a public holiday, attending Buhari’s burial, renaming a university after him, and holding a FEC meeting in his honour — as “unprecedented.”
“Something even the late President never did to others,” he said, reacting to claims that Tinubu was using Buhari’s death for political gain.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) had accused the presidency of exploiting the moment for PR. But presidential aide Sunday Dare dismissed the claim as “manufactured outrage,” saying Tinubu’s actions were a mark of respect, not politics.
