President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the establishment of a Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa, Abuja, which will be named after him as the “Bola Ahmed Tinubu Polytechnic.”

The announcement came in a letter from the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, requesting proposals for temporary and permanent sites within Gwarinpa. The letter indicated that a technical team from the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) would inspect the proposed locations before final approval.

Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairman, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, praised the decision, describing it as a transformative milestone for the FCT. He also commended the FCT Minister for facilitating the project, calling it a boost for education and development in the region.
