Suspected Kidnapper Arrested While Trying to Collect Ransom.

Operatives of the Adamawa state police command have arrested a suspected kidnapper identified as Roland Raymond.

The announcement was made via the command’s X handle.

According to the report, Raymond, a resident of Detti village, Ganye local government area, was nabbed while attempting to collect ransom.

The Adamawa police also said the 32-year-old suspect was apprehended with the collaborative efforts of hunters.

The statement read “The suspect was arrested following a report by Alhaji Yahya Congo and Abraham Paul, who stated that the suspect called them via phone and demanded the sum of 600,000 Naira or risk being kidnapped.”

“Upon receipt of the complaints, the police in Ganye Division, in collaboration with hunters, swiftly mobilized and arrested the suspect at the point of collecting the demanded money. The suspect will be Charged to Court after investigation.”, it concluded.

This is the second time in the space of two months, that security agents would arrest kidnappers at the point of collecting ransom.

In February, troops from 93 battalion under the 6th brigade of the Nigerian army nabbed a suspected notorious female kidnapper, Janet Igohia in Taraba state in the same manner.

The troops said Igohia was arrested while trying to pick up a ransom paid by relatives of an abducted victim in the state.
