A female suicide bomber detonated an explosive at a local food joint in Konduga, Borno State, on Friday night, killing at least 24 people and injuring several others. The blast occurred around 10:00pm and left the bomber’s body shattered, with only the head recovered.
Police spokesperson ASP Nahum Daso confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing. Security operatives, including the military, police EOD teams, and local hunters, quickly secured the area. Victims were taken to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, where the dead were later released for burial according to Islamic rites.
