“Sponsors” of National Protests on “Watchlist” – Immigration Comptroller.

The Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, has revealed that some sponsors of #EndBadGovernance protesters have been placed on its watchlist. She disclosed this at a meeting of heads of security agencies and Service Chiefs in Abuja on Tuesday.

Nandap, who didn’t reveal any name, claim some of those affected are abroad and such watch-listed individuals would be arrested upon their arrival in the country.

She said, “We have diaspora sponsors, they are on our watchlist. They are watchlisted, any attempt they make to come into the country, we’ll be notified and they will be picked up and handed to the appropriate authority”

Nandap emphasized that the identified individuals are under close surveillance. “They are within our radar. We are ensuring that any attempt they make to enter the country will be flagged to the necessary authorities. We are working closely with the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), the Department of State Services (DSS), and the National Security Adviser’s office.”

The Director-General Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi, said the agency has uncovered some sponsors but declined to give further information.

The DG, DSS who was represented by the Service Public Relation Officer, Peter Afunanya, said some accounts have been blocked.

He said some of the persons operating such accounts are staying abroad, adding that they are being monitored.
