Governor Charles Soludo says almost all kidnappers arrested in Anambra over the last three years are of Igbo origin, not Fulani as widely believed.
Speaking in the U.S. during a town hall with Anambra indigenes, Soludo said, “If we’ve arrested 100 kidnappers, 99 are Igbo. The idea that Fulanis are behind the crimes is false.”
He said the narrative misled youths into joining kidnapping, seeing it as the next ‘lucrative job’ after internet fraud and drug trafficking. Soludo urged Igbos in the diaspora to invest in their state and stop promoting false claims that fuel insecurity.
