Vice President Kashim Shettima has raised concern over increasing attacks on Nigeria’s power infrastructure, calling it a national crisis.
Speaking in Maiduguri on Tuesday, he commissioned a 15MVA injection substation, built by the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), to improve electricity supply. He urged security agencies and citizens to help protect power facilities from vandalism.
Shettima also inaugurated the Borno Fashion Hub, expected to create 48,000 jobs annually for youth and women. He announced a ₦300,000 grant for top MSMEs and new ₦5 million loans through the Bank of Industry (BoI) to support small businesses.
