Senator Abdul Ningi, (PDP, Bauchi Central) has resumed his legislative duties in the upper chamber after a three-month suspension. The senator who was suspended by his colleagues after he alleged the 2024 budget was padded appear in a cheerful mood as he briefly chatted with journalists before taking the floor.
When asked if he enjoyed his leave, the senator replied saying: “very much.”
Last week, the senate moved to cut short senator Ningi’s suspension following a motion raised by the senate minority leader, Abba Moro, who suggested Ningi regretted his actions.
The motion was subsequently adopted but the Bauchi senator did not resume till now. He was accompanied by other Senators like Suleiman Kawu Sumaila (NNPP, Kano South), and Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (PDP, Sokoto South), came into the National Assembly through the Villa Gate, arrived about 10:40am, 20 minutes ahead of the scheduled time for the commencement of the Senate plenary.
