Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has described the Senate as operating like a cult, claiming lawmakers fear speaking out.

In a BBC interview, she reiterated her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, days after taking the matter to the UN. She accused the Senate of silencing her by suspending her for six months.

Akpoti-Uduaghan detailed incidents where Akpabio allegedly made inappropriate remarks and gestures. However, Senate Deputy Chief Whip Onyekachi Nwaebonyi dismissed her claims, insisting Akpabio never acted inappropriately.
