Al-Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo has boldly declared himself the greatest footballer of all time, insisting that no player in history matches his all-round abilities.
Speaking in an interview with La Sexta, Ronaldo acknowledged that fans may favour Lionel Messi, Pele, or Diego Maradona but maintained that his achievements speak for themselves.
“If I finish with 920 or 925 goals, it doesn’t matter. I am the best player in history. Full stop. If I reach 1,000 goals, great. If not, that’s fine too. Numbers don’t lie,” Ronaldo stated.
The 39-year-old also revealed that he could have joined Barcelona before moving to Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon.
Ronaldo has won five Ballon d’Or awards and major league titles across England, Spain, and Italy. The only major trophy missing from his collection is the FIFA World Cup, despite leading Portugal to Euro 2016 and Nations League glory in 2019.
