Rescued Chibok Girl, 330 Others Handed Over to Borno State Government.

Operatives of the Nigerian Army say they have handed over more than three hundred rescued victims of kidnapping to the Borno state government. The Theatre Commander, “Operation Hadin Kai”, Major General Shuaibu Waidi, who made the announcement said the rescued people include one of the schoolgirls kidnapped from Chibok, her two children and 330 others, including women and children. Waidi said they were rescued from the dreaded Sambisa Forest where they were held by Boko Haram militants.

“Today, we will be witnessing two events namely, the handover of the rescued Chibok girl and the handover of other women and children to the officials of the Borno State Government for further management.

“The theatre will continue to do its best to rescue the remaining Chibok girls in captivity in line with the strategic guidance from the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Toaheed Lagbaja.

“We equally thank the Chief of Army Staff for all the support being provided to the theatre which was instrumental to the successful conduct of the operations that facilitated the rescue of Ihyi Abdu from the Sambisa Forest.

“The plight of the remaining Chibok girls still in captivity, continue to be captured in national headlines and here in the theatre, it has necessitated the conduct of several military operations deep into terrorists’ enclaves with the aim of facilitating their rescue. So far, a total of 19 Chibok girls have been rescued as a result of direct military operations,” Waidi said.

Also speaking, Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Brigadier General Abubakar Haruna said, Ihi Abdul was rescued by the troops of 22 Taskforce brigade.

He explained that Ihi hails from Kuburbula village of Chibok Local Government Area of the state.
“Ihi Abdul was on serial number 67 of the abducted Chibok School Girls published by the Federal Government, and that, she was married out to Boko Haram Commander, Abu Darda and after fleeing to Senegal, she was married out to three different husbands.”

“She was rescued with her two children, and she is also three months pregnant. She has undergone necessary medical checkup, and we are handing her over to the Borno State government for further attention today,” Haruna added.
