The House of Representatives has ordered an investigation into the mass failure recorded in the 2025 UTME conducted by JAMB.
This followed a motion by Rep. Adewale Adebayo, who expressed concern over the high number of poor results. He noted that many candidates travelled far for the exam, only to face disappointment.
While supporting the motion, Rep. Sada Soli commended JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede for owning up to a technical glitch that affected nearly 380,000 candidates.
Speaker Abbas Tajudeen said it was up to the investigating committee to decide whether the board deserved commendation.
The House has asked JAMB to release the results of candidates under 16 and urged the federal government to establish UTME centres in all LGAs.
JAMB had earlier revealed that over 70% of candidates scored below 200 out of 400 in the 2025 UTME.
