The UK’s Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle have arrived in Nigeria for their 72-hour tour to promote the Invictus games.

The couple touched down on Friday morning after boarding the British airways overnight flight to Abuja, which was slightly delayed after the scheduled pilot went sick, and a replacement had to be quickly arranged.

On arrival in Nigeria just before 5am, they were met at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport by Nigerian officials.

Speaking on their itinerary, the spokesperson for the Nigerian army, Brigadier general Tukur Gusau, said their first engagement is at midday at the defence headquarters.

The visit primarily to promote the Invictus games, comes after Harry met the Nigerian team and general Christopher Musa at last year’s competition in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Meghan will also co-host an event on women in leadership with Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, according to the couple’s spokesman Charlie Gipson.
