The meeting commenced at approximately 12:50 pm was attended by all cabinet members. Part of the highlights of the meeting was the swearing in of two federal commissioners of the national population commission (NPC).

The two commissioners, Fasuwa Johnson of Ogun state and Amidu Raheem Osun state had their citations read before the oath of allegiance was administered to them.

The NPC is a major data collection and processing agency of the Federal government of Nigeria, responsible for collating and disseminating data on prominent indicators about the Nigeria people.

The FEC also observed a minute’s silence in honour of two former ministers: one-time minister of education, Professor Fabian Osuji, and former Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu.
