President Tinubu Mourns former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Dead at 100

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his condolences to the people of the United States of America over the demise of former President Jimmy Carter.

This was contained in a press statement signed on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

President Tinubu recalls former President Carter as a trustworthy friend to Nigeria and also describes him as a beacon of service to humanity.

Former President Carter died at his home in Plains, Georgia on Sunday 29th December, 2024 after marking his 100th birthday in October 1st.

Carter served as the U.S. President from 1977 – 1981 and laid a ground work for a pragmatic diplomatic ties between the United States and Africa, with a historic three-day visit to Nigeria in March 1978 as reflected by President Tinubu.
