The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the discovery of photojournalist Ayobami Aiyepeku’s body in a bush near the WAEC office, Crusher Zone 8, Lokoja.
Police spokesperson SP Williams Aya said the body, found on Sunday, had begun to decompose. He added that an investigation is ongoing and urged the public to provide useful information.
Ayobami was reportedly killed on July 22 by his neighbour, Oluwapelumi Adebayo, in an office near Lokoja GRA. A foul smell led residents to the scene where the body was found.
His brother, Timothy Aiyepeku, called on authorities to ensure justice is served. Lokoja LGA Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, visited the site and confirmed the identity of the deceased.
