Police Arrest Suspected Vote Buyer With ₦25.9m in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested a suspected vote buyer with ₦25,963,000.

The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies. The arrest happened ahead of today’s bye-elections in the state.

The suspect, identified as Shehu Aliyu Patangi, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday. He was picked up at a popular hotel along Turunku Road in Kaduna metropolis. Investigations revealed that the cash was meant to be used to influence voters.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, praised the cooperation among security agencies. He described the arrest as a major step toward protecting the integrity of the elections. The police boss warned that anyone caught trying to disrupt the process would be punished. He also assured residents of adequate security before, during, and after the polls.
