The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has resolved to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the South.
The decision was reached on Monday during the party’s 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja.
The recommendation came from the National Zoning Committee, chaired by Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, whose report was presented and ratified by the NEC.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, explained that the party agreed to sustain its existing zoning formula between the North and South.
He added that since the National Chairman of the PDP will emerge from the North at the party’s elective convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, slated for November 15–16, the presidential ticket has been reserved for the South.
