The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reinstated Senator Samuel Anyanwu as its National Secretary.
Acting National Chairman Iliya Damagum announced the decision Wednesday at the PDP headquarters in Abuja, saying it followed consultations and was “a difficult but necessary step.”
The move comes after a Supreme Court ruling and INEC’s insistence that only letters signed by both chairman and secretary would be accepted.
Anyanwu, who had stepped aside to contest the Imo governorship, was replaced by Sunday Udeh-Okoye. The court later ruled that the party holds the final say on its leadership.
A planned NEC meeting has now been replaced with an extended caucus session set for June 30.
