Over 200 companies in the UK, employing more than 5,000 workers, have adopted a four-day work week with no reduction in pay, according to the 4 Day Week Foundation.
Joe Ryle, the campaign director, emphasized the move as a step toward modernizing the workplace, noting, “The five-day work week, created over 100 years ago, is outdated. A four-day week allows people to live happier, more fulfilling lives.”
With London companies leading the way, advocates believe the shift improves employee well-being and helps businesses attract and retain talent. This bold step is reshaping how work is defined across industries.
