Mudashiru Obasa, the former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has spoken out about his removal, calling the accusations against him “fictitious and unsubstantiated.”
During a welcome rally at his Ikeja residence on Saturday, Obasa made it clear that he was not afraid of his removal, but insisted it should have been carried out according to the law. He accused the police of collaborating in the process, revealing that more than 200 officers had invaded both his Agege and Ikeja homes, locking his family inside.
“If I’m no longer the speaker, it’s not the end of the world,” Obasa said. “But if you claim I’m corrupt, prove it. Is it possible to construct a gate with N16 billion? It’s not the Jericho wall.”
