The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reclaimed over 200 mining sites from illegal miners and bandits, with 300 suspects arrested, according to its Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi.
He made this announcement during the passing out parade for the third batch of NSCDC Mining Marshals at the corps’ headquarters in Abuja.
Audi highlighted the role of the newly commissioned Mining Marshals under ‘Operation Hayakin Logo,’ tasked with safeguarding the mining industry and curbing illegal operations.
He expressed optimism about revitalizing the sector through continued enforcement actions.
