Vice President Kashim Shettima has denied claims that he was barred from entering the Presidential Villa, calling the report false and mischievous.
An online platform had alleged that he was blocked by security agents and confined to his residence until President Tinubu returns from his trip abroad.
But in a statement on Saturday, Shettima’s spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha, said nothing like that happened.
He described the report as “a desperate attempt to cause confusion and spread fake news.”
“There’s no rift between the President and the Vice President,” Nkwocha said. “These claims are baseless and should be ignored.”
He urged the public to verify information and avoid spreading unconfirmed stories.
