A Nigerian boxer, Segun Olanrewaju, has passed away after collapsing during a boxing match in Ghana on Saturday.

He lost consciousness while facing Ghanaian professional boxer Jon Mbanugu at Fight Night 15 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League at Bukom Boxing Arena.

Olanrewaju, 40, was confirmed dead after efforts to revive him proved futile, marking the tragic end of his professional career, which included 24 fights, 13 wins, 8 losses, and 3 draws.

A video circulating on social media captures the moment he collapsed in the ring.

Olanrewaju was a former National and West African light-heavyweight champion.
